THE WIND THROUGH THE FIELDS

THE WIND THROUGH THE FIELDS, by Aidan Redwing, audio by Leeman Kessler

THE FIELD

Cold snow,

like arrows,

falls softly.

Carried on

Winter’s wind

it buries

the warm

bleeding bodies.

Pale skinned

and lifeless,

eyes stare,

blank gazes,

death glazed.

Noble lords,

lowborn soldiers

lie together,

filling a

common grave.

None live

that do

not die

afraid and

all alone.

Farmer’s field,

tilled earth:

Long forgotten

battlefield of

fallen warriors.

Plants grow

earth made

rich by

spilled blood.

Hold the

line and

plough straight.
